Anthophora abrupta (Abrupt Digger Bees) under the I-78 bridge over the Schuylkill River at Hamburg PA, June 4, 2019
Female Anthophora abrupta (Abrupt Digger Bees) collecting water at a nearby puddle (maybe both in their "fur" and drinking it?) to carry it back to their chosen nest spot to soften the earth so they can dig their burrow.
Male Anthophora abrupta (Abrupt Digger Bees) on a rock unearthed by nearby construction, maybe scraping or sipping to get minerals to supplement their diet like male butterflies do.
